Stoneridge Water workshop scheduled Feb. 21 in Blanchard
Staff from the Idaho Public Utilities Commission will
conduct a public workshop in Blanchard on Wednesday night, Feb. 21, regarding
Stoneridge Water Company’s application for an increase in monthly user fees,
hook-up fees and disconnection/reconnection fees.
The company serves about 374 households but will
ultimately have 1,207 households when including the planned developments in its
service territory.
The company is seeking to close out a series of loans from
the State Drinking Water Revolving Fund totaling about $438,500.
Stoneridge proposes to increase the residential customer
charge from $14 per month to $38 and the commodity charge from 30 cents for
every thousand gallons to 67 cents per 1,000 gallons. For commercial customers,
the customer charge would increase from $20 per month to $38 per month and the
commodity charge increase is also from 30 cents/thousand gallons to 67 cents.
The company also proposes to increase its hook-up fee for new service from $925
to $1,200 and it reconnection fee to $278 during office hours and $328 after
office hours.
The workshop will provide an opportunity for customers to
ask questions of commission staff. The commission staff, as well as the
company, will then submit comments to the three-member commission that decides
the case.
The workshop begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Stoneridge Event
Center, 104 Chatwold in Blanchard.
