Driggs area water company proposes ownership
change
The Idaho Public Utilities Commission
will comment through Oct. 5 regarding the sale of Teton Springs Water and Sewer
Company to a new owner. The new owner is
Teton Water and Sewer Company with Jon Pinardi of Driggs listed as managing
member. The former managing partner was
Robert Marshall.
The water and sewer company serves a
planned unit development in eastern Idaho’s Teton County.
Mr. Pinardi has managed the company
since 2006. The utility claims he has the business experience and financial
ability to continue operating the utility and is familiar with the commission’s
regulations and rules. He is licensed as a Drinking Water Distribution Operator
and is familiar with the state Department of Environmental Quality’s waster
system testing requirements.
Because the commission regulates
water utilities, but not sewer companies, the applicant understands that
accounting for the water system must be maintained on a stand-alone basis
separate from any other business activities.
The change in ownership is not
anticipated to have any effect on the service offered by the company and will
not affect rates.
The commission plans to handle this request in a modified procedure
that uses written comments rather than conducting a hearing, unless customer
comments can demonstrate a need for a public hearing.
Comments are accepted via e-mail through Oct. 5 by accessing the
commission’s homepage at www.puc.idaho.gov
and clicking on "Comments & Questions About a Case." Fill in the
case number (TTS-W-12-01) and enter your comments. Comments can also be mailed
to P.O. Box 83720, Boise, ID 83720-0074 or faxed to (208) 334-3762.
